"The purpose of art is to uplift the spirit," explains Peggy Weiner, a San Diego artist originally from the suburbs of New York and a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation Program."
"I paint subjects that stir my soul in hopes of eliciting a similar response in my viewer. Often times this involves painting a usual subject from an unusual perspective or emphasizing the underlying patterns in Nature." In 1978 she moved to San Diego, California, where she continued her fine art education at Mesa College, the Athenaeum School of Art, and the San Diego Watercolor Society.
